Clear aligners are practically invisible trays that are individually made to fit over your teeth. They apply a gradual pressure to position your teeth into perfect alignment. The aligners are generally worn all day and night and should only be removed when you eat. While each patient is different and requires unique treatment, clear aligners may not be the best treatment option for you. How do clear aligners work?
We take impressions of your teeth, which are sent to a lab and created using a 3D printer. The result is a strong plastic custom-made clear tray. Like any orthodontic treatment, clear aligners apply gentle pressure to align your teeth. Throughout your treatment process, you will change your aligners every two weeks. Each aligner is unique and requires replacement as your teeth shift. Your aligners should be worn for at least 20 hours a day. Depending on your orthodontic needs, treatment can be done is as little as six months, or can take up to two years for more severe cases.
